This heart-filled family has a genuine love for learning and creating and are excited to welcome a second nanny into their home and team. Their 5-year-old daughter is enthusiastic, empathetic and loves spending lots of time outdoors, including daily excursions to the park. She is currently attending Pre-K in person four days per week. The family has found that their 5-year-old is thriving with a positive discipline approach, and they are eager to continue using this approach with her, as well as their second child, who is due in March! A candidate who is eager to adopt the family culture of curiosity, learning, and social-emotional intelligence will fit right in with this collaborative, caring family and team.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about bringing their all-hands-on-deck, creative, and calm spirit to the role! The family is hoping to find a candidate with prior education or desire to learn about child development. Candidates should be familiar with the infant, toddler, and elementary stages. A formal background in early childhood education and French or Italian fluency will be a big plus for this family! A proactive and collaborative candidate who is a lifelong learner, passionate about child development, and can work with this loving family to develop age-appropriate daily practices will be valued for years to come.

If you're looking for a child care job with flexible hours, The Nanny Network has a great opportunity for you! If you apply to work with our agency, we can find work for you and save you the time of searching for a job on your own. Our agency works with families in the Washington, D.C., metro area who are in need of in-home backup child care for infants to school-age children. You can work when you're available (and earn some extra money)! We're looking for qualified caregivers who are available at least one full working day per week and can fill last-minute requests for child care. The jobs last for a minimum of four hours, and they are normally during the daytime on weekdays. The pay rate is $15-$16 per hour before taxes.
Our basic criteria for backup child care providers are that they have two years of recent professional child care experience and three professional references (not including family members or friends) that we can verify. All caregivers must be at least 18 years old and legally able to work in the United States. The members of our child care team need to have a true love for caring for kids, an enthusiastic attitude, and great communication and organizational skills. Non-drivers are welcome to apply, though not all families homes' are accessible via public transportation.
